Queen Isabeau Room

LONG LIVE QUEEN ISABEAU DE BAVIERÉ!

The last request of the French king Charles V was fulfilled in 1385 when his son, Charles VI, married a Bavarian princess. And Elisabeth of Bavaria–Ingolstadt became Isabeau of France! If you have time and are interested, visit the “New Castle” in the old part of town, which could only be built thanks to Queen Isabeau’s financial support of her brother, Duke Ludwig the Bearded. We would be happy to tell you more about Ingolstadt’s history ;-)

Cherry-tree wood, golden walls and gold-framed mirrors and pictures give this room a regal feeling. Not least because of the glass case with Queen Isabeau’s regal gown.
